Shiny Skin / Oily Skin - Use Mineral Makeup!

Mineral makeup fixes this problem. There are many different brands, so look around until you find a good, thick formula. Some formulas even contain clay, which is excellent, as that helps to soak up excess oil. You might enjoy a loose powder mineral concealer used as your all-over foundation, to give a more matte finish too. Just experiment till you find the right brand.

Compared to other types of makeup, loose powder mineral makeup helps to control shine and oil because ... simply put... it IS a powder. It also covers superbly and lasts all day, even through sweating and swimming. YAY! So shiny folk, rejoice!

Using just the foundation and / or concealer all over should be enough for you. If you are SUPER shiny, or live in a humid environment, or if you are active in sports, then I recommend also using a clay-based finishing powder and / or makeup primer. You don't have to use both, but using one or the other will give another layer of shine protection to your face. The clay in the formula will help to soak up oil, while also giving a matte finish.

Most people never need to reapply their makeup throughout the day. I never do, even though I live in a very hot, humid climate. But if you wish to, you can take your foundation or finishing powder with you and dust on throughout the day.

You might consider a refillable or dispensing brush for this, to help avoid any messes with the loose powder makeup.
