Punk Makeup Tips

Apply punk makeup like a pro!

If you are daring, you can wear these looks every day. If not, these looks are great for parties, Halloween makeup, or nighttime!

Basic application:

1. Select colors. You don't have to use just black like some believe. In fact, the new punk is all about color and lots of it! Select bright, bold colors.

2. Apply your lighter colors first in desired areas. There are no rules with this type of makeup, so just experiment. Usually the lighter colors will be applied to the brow bone and/or to the eye lid.

3. Follow with your darker shade in the crease, either winged or rounded. If you like, go for a rainbow look with multiple color streaks. Or try swirls, a star burst, etc. Or, if you prefer, just keep it classic and apply lots of thick, intense color just in the crease.

4. Apply dark brown or black eye shadow to eye brows to give them more definition and shape.

5. Apply heavy black eyeliner or other bright colored eyeliner.

6. Top with black or funky-colored mascara. Apply fake lashes if desired and/or colored contacts.

You can choose to go with shimmery colors or totally matte. That is up to you.

The rest of your face (blush, lipstick, etc), should match the punk look. If going all-out on the eyes, keep the lips and cheeks still bright and funky, but not TOO crazy or it will all be overwhelming.

Make sure your hair and clothes are edgy.

Remember there are really no rules here, just so long as you keep it bright, bold, crazy and exciting!
