Mineral Makeup Layer confusion

I really love mineral makeup and the clean, fresh feeling I get when I use it. It is so much better than any liquid or cream I have ever used. Here's my confusion, though - Bare Escentuals sells ALL OVER FACE COLOR, MINERAL VEIL, FOUNDATION, ETC. ETC. I usually use under eye cover of some sort and then foundation and warm radiance only. Should I be using more or less at different times? I hate to use too much because I think that would defeat the purpose of switching from the heavy cream and liquid foundations.

Another question…Is the BARE MINERALS brand better than any others? I started using it because my sister and I were on vacation and I lost my makeup bag. She let me try hers and I fell in love with it. I’ve tried a few other brands of mineral makeup from the drugstore, but have never found one that really measures up. They usually don’t last as long and I feel washed out by the end of the day. Thanks!
