I just love mineral makeup kits! They are so cute! You receive all types of little, colorful goodies that you get to play in!

If you are new to mineral makeup, I really recommend that you try a starter kit. You can get samples to start but unless you are really familiar with a brand already or have tried minerals in the past and know what you need, then you just might order a bunch of samples you can't use.

Not to say you shouldn't buy samples. By all means, get samples before full size. I just think that if you have NEVER tried minerals before AT ALL, then go with a starter kit.

Mineral makeup kits come in all price ranges and types. Some with brushes, some without. If you don't have a kabuki brush, a powder brush, or a concealer brush then I suggest you get a larger, complete kit.

If you already have all the proper brushes, including a kabuki, then go with a smaller kit that does not contain brushes.

Other types of starter kits include cheek and finisher kits, category sampler kits (like foundation collections, or bronzer kits, etc), surprise kits, brush kits or eye kits.

The most popular types of mineral makeup kits are the complete kits that feature mainly foundation and perhaps a concealer, blush and finishing powder.

These are excellent to get you started if you are unsure where else to begin your mineral makeup journey.

Once you are more familiar with mineral makeup, try an eye kit or other sampler kits in order to experiment with new shades and products. You can never have too much mineral makeup!

Another great tip is to introduce a friend to mineral makeup by buying her a gift set / kit. Trust me, she'll be thrilled!
