Mascara Application Tips

Apply mascara for the longest, fullest lashes you can have! My tricks revealed...

Have you ever watched a commercial wondering how on God's green earth the model was blessed with such gorgeous, long lashes?

They're fake.

Okay, the truth comes out, folks! Yep. The models are wearing fake lashes in most of those ads.

So don't expect to get those results from their brand, unless you also first apply fake lashes like they did.

Mascara can have a HUGE impact, though, in length and fullness of lashes.

BENEFITS:

-It opens up the eye area, giving you the appearance of larger, more vibrant eyes.

-It focuses attention on your eyes

COLORS:

Most people can wear black. If you are pale blond or redheaded, then I recommend to use a brown instead. Black can be too harsh on you.

Some companies even offer mahogany colored shades for redheads.

These are great! You will look gorgeous and natural.

Blues, greens, purples and other such odd colors can be worn as well, but in general, leave those for party time or evening.

During the day, stick to simple black or brown.

BRANDS:

With all the brands available, it can be hard to decide. A brand rising in the ranks (and my current personal favorite) is blinc Kiss Me Mascara .
It forms tiny tubes around your lashes, which rinse easily away with water and slight pressure at the end of the day.

But during the day, no smudging, no smearing, no running... it is water proof and FABULOUS. Love it.

But try various brands. I normally recommend to go all natural with products, but I just haven't found a natural brand I like yet. If you have a recommendation, I'd love to hear it!

APPLICATION:

Make sure your lashes are clean and dry. Make sure to avoid applying moisturizer to your lashes in the morning. (It is okay at night)

Swirl your mascara brush inside the tube (never pump the wand as this will introduce air into the tube, causing the ingredients to dry out faster). Begin sweeping the wand onto lashes, starting with the outer edge of the upper lashes.

Work toward the inner corner of your lash line. Using only the tip of the lash brush, sweep onto lower lashes if desired, or leave them bare. Your preference.

Apply to other eye in the same manner.

Allow to sit for a few seconds, then apply a second and/or third coat if you want a darker, more dramatic eye makeup look.

After it has set, do not apply any more coats or your lashes will begin to look clumpy, cakey and dry. Not an attractive look, in my opinion! :)
