Large Pores Can Be Covered With Mineral Makeup

Large pores are a common complaint. Seems like nothing helps, doesn't it?

There is a great way to cover them with mineral makeup. I recommend cleansing and moisturizing your face as usual.

Use a lighter moisturizer. If you do use a heavy moisturizer or an oil, allow it to soak in WELL, apply a powder primer and then your makeup. But you can avoid those extra steps by simply using a lighter cream. It should soak in quickly, leaving no sticky or oily residue. (If you were to apply a thick cream or oil, and not allow it to soak in properly, you would end up with slip-sliding makeup throughout the day that would settle into your pores and lines. Not good!).

Apply your mineral foundation and concealer as usual. Make sure you choose the proper shades... you want them to blend in perfectly with your skin tone. Conceal all your other problems (acne, puffy eyes, etc). Do NOT apply your blush, eye makeup, bronzer, lipstick or any other makeup yet.

Now, the trick with large pores, is to take a smaller brush, like a concealer brush, and pick up some loose powder foundation with the bristles. Tap off any excess powder on the lid of the makeup jar, and then begin stippling the brush onto the desired areas (do quick, little taps up and down) to essentially camouflage the pores.

Once you are mostly satisfied that they are hiden, pick up more powder and sweep it onto the area to smooth everything out.

You can use this technique anywhere you have pores bigger than you desire. The most common area is the nose, but feel free to try it on your cheeks, chin, forehead or any other area that needs it.

Once you have successfully achieved a smooth-skin look, then you can apply your blush or bronzer, lip gloss or lipstick, eye color, eyeliner, mascara, finishing powder, etc.

If you do get oily during the day, use a good oil-controlling finishing powder to help control the oil. Apply throughout the day as needed. You don't want your skin getting oily or shiny during the day as this won't help the pores.
