Gothic Eye Makeup
If you need help creating AWESOME Gothic eye makeup looks, then you are at the right place! I'll give the basic instructions, followed by some stunning pictures to give you ideas! 1. Apply a very light, or even white foundation to entire face and eye area. Make sure this is a matte foundation, not shimmery or dewy. 2. Apply very pale blush or no blush at all. You can use a neutral brown and contour UNDER the cheekbone to give more definition, and even highlight with white or cream on top of the cheekbone. This will give a very sculpted look, without adding loads of color. In general, you want to keep the whole face pale, except for the eyes and lips. 3. Apply dark lip liner and lipstick (blood red, maroon, etc). Keep it very clean and strong. You don't want soft and pretty. Use a matte shade, then add a touch of gloss if you need to. 3. Start on the eyes. You should already have a complete coating of white foundation or cream powder eye shadow on the eye. If not, apply now. 4. Select color (black is the classic look) and apply either in the winged format shown below or the rounded format shown below, in the crease of the eye. Smudge and blend well, OR leave in a crisp, defined line. 5. Line eyes with black eye liner heavily, and then coat with several thick coats of black mascara and/or fake eye lashes. 6. Fill in your eye brows with deep brown or black eye shadow to define them. General rules: -For the most part, stick with MATTE colors. I have shown an example of a shimmery red streak below, but normally you will want to stay with dark, matte shades for the classic Goth look. -You can apply a color to your eyelid before applying the black eye shadow. Try plum, deep green, charcoal or other dark shade. Apply to entire eye lid before applying your black in the crease. This is an optional step. -Apply your eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara to LOWER eye lid as well for more intensity. -Line the INSIDE of your lower eyelid for a deeper look, using black eyeliner.
