Eye Makeup Remover ...Make Your Own or Buy The Best!

Eye makeup remover is a necessity for most women who wear makeup. So why can't you just use your regular facial cleanser? Well, you COULD... but most of them are too harsh for the eye area, causing a lot of stinging and tears, or are simply not designed to remove eye makeup. Thus you end up rubbing and scrubbing, which only results in wrinkles and sagging skin later on.

So, the ideal route to go when removing mascara, eye shadow and eyeliner, is to use a good quality, all-natural cleansing product specifically for the eyes.

Now, if you are the crafty, creative type, there is a quick and easy way to create your very own eye makeup remover. You can keep it as simple as you like, or go more complex for better benefits.

The main ingredient in most natural cleansers for the eye area, is ... (drum roll , please)... oil.

Yep. Oil is an excellent makeup picker-upper. Any type of oil works, really, but some good options include: castor oil, coconut oil, emu oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, etc. These can be bought at your local health food store, grocery store, or via the internet.

Simply apply to the eye area with a cotton ball and your eye makeup will disappear. COOL!

Now, if you wish to umph it up a bit, add in some more ingredients for various benefits. Add in some rich butters like cocoa butter or shea butter for added eye moisturization. This is great if you are trying to prevent wrinkles. Basically any ingredients that will dissolve easily in oil will work. Eye-safe extracts, tinctures, oils, butters, herbs, powders...

I don't recommend using any essential oils or fragrances, unless you really search out all the properties. It is best to stay simple when creating a product for the eye.

Okay, if you aren't into making things, then simply buy a good all-natural brand that you like.

I recommend looking for similar ingredients listed above, but any natural ingredients are fine, as long as they are eye-safe. Ingredients you might see also, include: aloe very gel or juice, water, various waxes, etc.

I personally recommend not using any product laden with chemicals, especially around the eyes. They just aren't safe in the long run, no matter what the label might say.
