Could you just make loose mineral makeup powder with zinc oxide and iron oxides?

I am trying to make my own mineral makeup, loose powder & a bronzing powder.
I want to stay away from fillers & mica, so could I just use zinc oxide as a base + iron oxides for the colour?
Would that work or not?

Hi, Judy. You *can* but you'd get a very chalky, thick formula. Adding some form of silky powder like mica will make it feel much more delicious and less like chalk. But that's up to you...
