7 Tips for The Best Bridal Spray Tan1. If you have never had a spray tan before, you need to have a trial run. Human skin can be very unpredictable, and you need to find the right spray tanning solution for your skin. While it is very likely that you will get a fantastic tan the first time around, there is a small chance that you will have to try a different solution that will give your skin a better color. 2. Never be tempted to get a dark shade of tan, even if you are going for a beach wedding. Not only does it look bad in the photos, but if anything goes wrong it is very, very hard to correct. The chance of a dark spray tan turning orange is considerably higher than for a light one. If you are going for a traditional white or light colored dress, even a light tan will be evident against it. 3. Ask for a solution that does not contain much of a bronzer if any (bronzer is the initial color guide for the technician to make sure that they do not miss any spots – if the technician is experienced they do not need much color to guide them). Even though most of the bronzer will wash off during your first shower, some of it will get into your pores and can stain your dress. A spray tanning solution that contains no bronzer or very little, will not carry that danger (it is not the bronzer that gives you a tan, it is the colorless DHA solution that reacts with your skin). 4. If you need to shave or wax before your bridal spray tan (and who doesn’t), do it about 1-2 days in advance. If you do it immediately before tanning, the solution will get into your pores and give you a “spotty look” as well as possibly causing some irritation. 5. The best time for your tanning treatment is 2 days before the wedding, so not only does the tan have the time to develop properly, but also you can correct any imperfections without any panic. 6. Make sure that you have enough of a tan extending lotion. It is a cream or a lotion that contains a small amount of DHA solution that gradually builds up a tan. It is perfect for correcting any imperfections without adding too much color. It is much easier to have to do two applications of this cream that have to scrub some tan off, if you applied too much of a product that gives you a stronger tan. 7. Make sure that your face is lighter than the rest of your body. Your make up will look much better. It is much easier for a make up artist to give you a sun-kissed look with a touch of cosmetic bronzer than to have to apply lots of lighter foundation giving you that “caked on” look. If you are having an airbrush tan, then ask for the lightest of sprays on your face. If you are having your Bridal Spray Tan in a booth, make sure that you wipe your face really well, maybe even with a wet towelette if your skin has a tendency of absorbing too much of a tanning solution. These are some of the basics of achieving a great Bridal Spray Tan.
